OSSR
TESTNET OPERATOR GUIDE

Run a relay.
Join the open network.

Operators keep OSSR available by validating transactions, paying Stacks network fees, and broadcasting safely. Registration is permissionless: no administrator chooses who may participate.

Registry is live on testnet

Connect the owner wallet below to publish an operator ID, compressed quote-signing public key, and HTTPS relay endpoint. Registration costs 10 STX plus the network fee.

ON-CHAIN REGISTRATION

Make your relay discoverable.

The connected testnet wallet becomes the record owner. Review every value in the wallet prompt; registrations are immutable in this registry version and duplicate registration is rejected before payment.

Register your relay
Publish your operator record on Stacks testnet. The contract charges exactly 10 STX.

Use the compressed public key for your isolated quote signer, not a private key.

Quote distribution

BEFORE YOU REGISTER

Prepare a production-minded relay.

Sponsor wallet

A dedicated Stacks testnet account funded with enough STX to pay network fees.

Isolated keys

Separate sponsor and quote-signing keys, stored outside the browser-facing application.

Simulation node

Access to a Stacks Core 4.0.3+ simulation endpoint so unsafe transactions fail before signing.

Public endpoint

A stable HTTPS relay URL exposing OSSR v1 info, quote, sponsorship, status, and readiness endpoints.

OPERATOR PATH

From local relay to discoverable operator.

01

Configure your relay

Copy the environment template, set dedicated testnet sponsor and quote keys, pin the approved adapter and sBTC contracts, and configure a Stacks API plus simulation endpoint.
npm run operator:serve
02

Prove readiness

Confirm the public metadata and readiness endpoints return your intended relay identity, sponsor principal, quote key, policy, and a healthy STX balance.
curl -fsS https://relay.example/v1/info
curl -fsS https://relay.example/health/ready
03

Prepare your public identity

Choose a stable operator ID, expose the relay over HTTPS, and copy the compressed public key from your isolated quote signer. Never enter the signer's private key in this form.
04

Register on-chain

Use the registration form above from the owner principal. The wallet pays the fixed 10 STX subscription directly to the registry owner and publishes the relay record in one transaction.
  • Owner principal from the connected wallet
  • Operator ID of up to 64 ASCII characters
  • Compressed 33-byte quote public key
  • HTTPS relay endpoint
  • Registration block height
05

Verify and stay reachable

Track the submitted transaction to confirmation, verify the stored record through the contract's read-only function, and keep the registered HTTPS endpoint online. This registry version does not support editing a registration in place.
Keep the registered endpoint healthy and publicly reachable

Start operating on testnet.

Review the implementation, follow deployment progress, and contribute to the registry contract in the official OSSR repository.
